Preity wants Yuvraj back, Dhoni goes bald, what more will this WC victory bring?

Yuvraj Singh who wasn't retained by the Kings XI Pubjab unlike many other top teams in the IPL auctions who retained their star players has a point to prove to Preity Zinta. With his World Cup performance being at the top, the "Man of the World Cup" only shows the respect earned when Preity has already started missing his "good friend" Yuvraj and wants him back in the team. But time has already slipped out with the ICC auctions over much before the WC. Now Yuvraj will be playing for Pune Warriors. A good deal indeed for Pune Warriors you'd realize. Preity ain't the one to blame though, she's just the cheerleader for the team :P. Who would have visualized this before the WC 2011 when Yuvraj was still struggling with his form?

In other news, just hours after the WC win, Dhoni shaves off his locks and gets a clean bald shave. For those whom it came as a surprize, we dug a bit and have evidence that this was actually pre planned, and the plan was public! In Kolkata Fashion Week 2009, when Dhoni had shortened his long hair locks, Dhoni had said in his interview that his next move would be to shave off the head completely to surprize everyone.

Between, in the WC 2011 final, Murali needed 2 wickets to become the leading Wicket taken in World Cups overall(presently it is McGrath). But Dhoni used his Chennai Super Kings connection very effectively in India's favour and denied Murali any wicket in his last match! With the IPL round the corner, only time will show how these two players gel together!

India did it - For Sachin, for us! The World Cup Winners!

Thanks to:
  1. Yuvraj Singh - Man of the series (362 Runs & 15 wickets)
  2. Zaheer Khan - Leading wicket taker (21 wickets)
  3. Sachin Tendulkar - Leading runs scorer for India (2nd highest overall in WC after Dilshan - 482)
  4. Mahendar Singh Dhoni - Captain's innings in the finals (91*)

The after effects of India's World Cup Final victory:

  1. People are celebrating Dussera
  2. Everyone is out on the streets dancing with Indian flags, shouting slogans like "Chak De India", "Bharat Mata ki Jai", "India...India" etc.
Apart from being written in the History in Golden letters, this has a more uniting significance!
This is a rare occasion when entire India gathers as one celebrating the victory together, dancing, shouting slogans etc. Indeed cricket does unite the entire country.
Now I know, why Cricket is called the religion of India!

Can Sachin make a Century of centuries in the final? & also be Man of the Series?

After having most unparalleled records under his name, can Sachin do it yet again? Can he make a century of centuries in the World Cup Final 2011?

Rumour has it that the reason why Sachin apparently gave up his wicket after 6 lives in the match at Mohali against Pakistan is that he didn't want his 100th century to come out of such a sluggish innings. He'd rather prefer it to be one of the most clean & perfect innings.

This milestone, if achieved by Sachin in the finals does not seem to be reachable in the near future by anyone, the closest being our very own disappointed Punter, Ricky Pointing with 69 hundreds(tests + one days).

Moreover, Sachin is just 3 runs behind the leading run scorer of the World Cup, T. Dilshan of Sri Lanka. They both along with Yuvraj Singh for his all round performance are the front runners for the "Man of the Series Award". I don't want to rule out the bowlers but the leading wicket taker, Shahid Afrid is already back home and unless exceptional, it is difficult to give the award to player from non-finalist team. Only if Zaheer Khan takes a good haul will he be able to cross Shahid Afridi as the leading wicket taker in the world cup 2011 to join the race for "Man of the World Cup".

So which feather will Sachin add to his already beautified hat in this world cup(which seems to be his last World Cup as well)!
